1.4Gt↘
of greenhouse gas emissions a year could be avoided by clinker substitution in cement

That was the finding of Izhar's Nature Communications paper. The same rigour goes into every client project: published methods, transparent data and numbers that stand up to scrutiny.

    About

    Led by Dr Izhar Shah

Izhar founded Sustech Solutions in 2024 after three years as a subject matter expert in engineering sustainability at Jaguar Land Rover, where he worked on life cycle assessment and net-zero technology for electric drive programmes.

Before that he was a post-doctoral researcher at Imperial College London, working on industrial decarbonisation of cement and steel. His Nature Communications paper showed that clinker substitution could avoid 1.4 gigatons of greenhouse gas emissions a year.

He holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering, has supervised MSc and PhD students, and has taught at UCL, Warwick and Reading.
